Philanthropic activities in East Africa

The East Africa Philanthropy Data Portal on philanthropic activities in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania is now available for the public.

Information on funders, recipients and volume of grants

The East Africa Philanthropy Data Portal shows who is doing what and where in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Candid, a US organisation, in cooperation with the East Africa Philanthropy Network have compiled extensive information on funders, recipients, number and volume of grants with the objective to reduce duplication of efforts, depict gaps, and to facilitate cooperation in the field. The platform wants to showcase the contribution of philanthropy to development with easily accessible and standardised data.

The partners continue to gather and complete the data offered on the platform and invite German foundations to contribute information on their work in these countries.
